Lets mix and match with cross-stitching. Cross-stitched roses are an eye-catching alternative to the gold embroidery from the Dolce&Gabbana FW13 collection. Here’s how to wear them.
As we all know, cross-stitching is an important element of the Dolce&Gabbana FW 13 collection, and it has to become part of your wardrobe. The inspiration for the collection is Sicilian Baroque, and as well as the sheer beauty of the cross stitching, the precious had crafted embroidery is very opulent. For this week’s instalment let me show you two looks with cross-stitched garments at the centre.Lets mix and match with cross-stitching.
The first option with this adorable tulip shaped mini skirt match a lace top with hand embroidery- so lovely. Cover up with an astrakhan cape and a pair of black Mary Janes with gold piping.& This is a day to evening look, so carry a mid size bag like this white Sicily Slim. To be even more romantic add beautiful oversize black tulle earrings with golden filigree, pearls and black crystals from the fashion show. This styling has a little extra in my opinion, its girly, a day look, in my opinion, but it can work for a dinner date too. What man will not love a girl who turns up dressed like this? Also, its quite sexy, as once the cape comes off, the lace top is almost transparent.
The second option is a cross-stitched dress with lace inserts which skims the figure, it’s actually rather figure hugging. It may seem like a typical Dolce&Gabbana silhouette, but the puff sleeves make it new for FW13, and very romantic. Wear it with this coat: it has the right fit to match the dress. The double-breasted bodice is very tight while the skirt flares due to the pleating at the waist, and the new modified kimono sleeves, which are very chic. Wear it with a crochet clutch with Sicilian inspired charms, and cross-stitched pumps which match the dress. I would wear the fashion show jewellery with this look too. This look is a bit more classic, but that element of romanticism sticks.
Recently I absolutely love wearing romantic looks, with my own personal twist of course! Here I was at a dinner organized by Dolce&Gabbana for the bloggers during Milan Fashion Week. This look is elegant yet sexy, even without a low cut neckline. My personal touch for this look consisted in the floral print pencil skirt, I just love to mix and match! I also wore the baroque jewellery from the fashion show with the Capodimonte inspired ceramic roses.
In this example, the cross-stitched bag makes the shirt pop, it looks much more glamorous.
One of the options I considered to wear at the Spring Summer 2013 fashion show was this cross stitched rose pattern dress with white lace. This dress is sooo romantic! I felt like a princess! With this look I thought it might have been too much to wear the fashion show jewellery with it.
For the fashion show SS 13 I actually decided to do the baroque romantic look, and yes I wore ALL the jewellery form the fashion show. Is it too much? I don’t think s. lol
Another option when wearing giant jewellery is to wear simple clothes, like I did here. This is what I wore for my birthday party. When wearing this type of jewellery, if you tie your hair in a bun it looks more elegant, while with a high ponytail the look immediately becomes more spirited.
Again, here I’m wearing important looking accessories with a simple look, and it’s not always necessary to match earrings with the necklace.
