Although I’m a fashion editor, I’m always seduced by beauty products- it’s a real passion of mine: perfumes, lotions and potions, I can never get enough. Here is a selection of my favourite products, which I use on an almost daily basis. I love Aleppo soap. It takes its name form the city of Aleppo in Syria, and its recipe is as old as the world (well not really, but you know what I mean). The process to make the soap is artesian, hand made and with the best raw materials. The attention and care that goes in the process make this is a one of a kind soap. The soap is free of additives and chemicals. At the base of soap are olive oil and laurel oil, which have both moisturizing and antibacterial qualities. I use it for the body and face. It’s a miracle! In Milan I get it from Naturasi.
Here are some of my other favourite face washes:The Dermatologica daily scrub is excellent to avoid black heads and other impurities. I found it in London in a super pharmacy on Portobello Road in London. Derma logica-Daily Microfoliant. This is a detergent for sensitive skin-Cucumber cleansing Foam by FreshIt has cucumber extracts which are fresh and gentle to the skin. Its so fun because it looks like a liquid, but when you pump its foam. Shuemura Cleansing Beauty Oil Premiumfor dry and sensitive skin conditions- I’ve been using it over 10 years to cleanse my skin to remove make up. Its an oil, which as soon as it touches the water it transforms into a soft, light but highly cleansing detergent. Its great if you have heavy makeup. It focuses on improving the texture of the skin, leaving the skin moisturized, nourished and more radiant looking.
here are my day creams:And Its been hard to find a cream for my dry and sensitive skin, but after years of experimentations, I found the right products, I generally change creams regularly so the skin doesn’t get used to them, but recently I can’t do without Crème de la Mer, the Moisturizing Gel Cream, The Regenerating Serum, The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid. For the eyes I use the Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocadoby Kiehls. Afterwards I apply Estee Lauder Idealist Illuminator Its great for reducing pigmentation from sun damage as well as redness or general patchiness.
And now onto the make up. As a base I use a silky-sheer highlighter:which is every woman’s dream (mine included)— base to perfect skin tone, as a highlighter to add luminosity, fresh, bright and healthy. These work under foundation or on their own. Clarins Eclat Minute Embellisseur, Mac cosmetics Strobe-Cream, Ysl beauty Teint-Parfait.
I also love using highlighters on the forehead, nose and cheekbones, for definition and brightness. I rather creamy highlighters, as I have quite dry skin. Its hydrating fluid glides on seamlessly with a silky texture and all-day. A golden apricot liquid that illuminates cheek and brow bones and adds a warm shimmer. Giorgio Armani Beauty luminous silk foundation, BenefitCosmetic Moon beam, Mac cosmetics Sun Rush, Nars Illuminator colour ‘super orgasm’
And here are my favourite perfume: There are my fragrances- always in my suitcase! I usually put a dab of perfume on before go to the bed. I like floral scents but not too sweet. Hanae Eau de Parfum by Keiko Mecheri. Its my favourite- I like to wear it all the time, whether it’s a normal day or a special occasion. Robert Piguet Baghari This is my favourite for winter, it’s a bit mysterious, amber and natural vanilla. Fracas- This is the only more feminine and sweet perfume I own:, vetiver and musk. Tom ford Black Velvet- Its a very interesting scent- its strong yet elegant- I like to wear it in the evenings.
